The Solon Springs High School softball team captured its second win in a row with a 15-5 victory over Washburn in Solon Springs Monday afternoon.
The Eagles strung together three huge innings, scoring five runs in the second, four in the fourth, and a six in the fifth. Solon Springs then added one more in the sixth to seal the victory in six innings.
Ciara Gilbert belted two home runs, scored two runs and drove in six to lead the offensive attack. Gilbert also got the victory pitching, working five innings, giving up three earned-runs on seven hits.
Rachel Hanley, Salann Gilbert, and Angela Orlandi collected three hits and scored three runs apiece.
The Eagles, now with a 4-5 record, will travel to Oulu to take on South Shore today at 4:30 p.m.
