The Superior High School girls soccer team traveled to Somerset on Saturday to play in a triangular with Somerset and Osceola.

In the first game, the Spartans lost 3-1 to Somerset. The game was tied at the half after freshman Abby Johnson scored a goal from the left side of the field. Somerset went ahead to win with one goal coming on a penalty kick and the other shortly after a free kick.

Spartan keepers Marissa Foley and Katie Giggliotti combined for a total of five saves.

The Spartans had 13 shots on goal compared to Somerset's eight but were unable to capitalize.

The Spartans then beat Osceola 3-2 in the second game with first-half goals by Abby Johnson and Megan Gallagher. The winning goal was scored by Caitlyn Fields with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

Foley recorded three saves, and the Spartans had a total of 12 shots on goal, with Osceola having five.

The Spartans face Amery at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at SHS.
