The Douglas County Sheriff's Department identified the victims of a fatal snowmobile crash New Year's Day.
Caitlin L. Higgens, 21, of Mounds View, Minn., and Martin E. Platek, 20, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., were pronounced dead at the scene of the South Lyman Lake Road crash scene. The accident occurred shortly before midnight and remains under investigation.
