A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for much of northwestern Wisconsin until 9 p.m. tonight.
TheNational Weather Service storm prediction center in Norman, Okla., issued a 3 p.m. statement indicatingsome of the storms could produce heavy downpours, gusty winds and small hail. Isolated severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds are possible in the evening hours.
Counties included in the watch are Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Sawyer and Washburn.
