The Loan Closet of the American Cancer Society, located at the rear entrance to the Superior-Douglas County Senior Center, Inc., 1527 Tower Ave., has bed, commodes, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, over-bed tables, and toilet seat risers to check out, free of charge to those in need in Douglas County.
As of recently, a new system has been inaugurated for checking out the above listed items and also offering other assorted items to be given away. These include such things as bed pans, urinals, seat cushions for wheelchairs, assorted back and limb braces, Pampers, and other one of a kind health appliances.
The Loan Closet is manned by volunteers 2-3 p.m., Monday-Friday. Materials must be checked out and returned during this time span.
