As of June 12, all television stations will be going digital. If you are a senior (60 years or older) and live in Douglas County, Senior Connections may be able to help you with the switch to digital TV. Give us a call at (715) 394-3611, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to learn more on what we can do for you.
If you watch TV over the air, using an antenna or "rabbit ears," you will need to purchase either a converter box, or a digital TV. A digital TV converter box hooks up to a conventional analog TV set, allowing it to receive digital broadcasts. This device, about the size of a cable box or smaller and is sometimes called a "digital-to-analog converter box," "set-top converter box" or "digital TV adapter."
If you are already connected, you will need to rescan your sets, as all of the channels will be switched to digital on June 12. If you haven't already received a coupon to help in purchasing a converter box if you need one, coupons are still available.
For more information on the conversion or if you would like to make sure your TV will accept digital broadcasting, or if you need help connecting your television to a converter box, or rescanning, you should call us at (715) 394-3611 or drop in at Senior Connections located at 1805 N. 16th St., Superior, to find out what help is available.
