The Second Avenue West ramp will close at Mesaba Avenue in Duluth between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. today. Crews will install the final components of a new anti-icing system.
Motorists may use West Seventh Street or North Fourth Avenue West as alternate routes into downtown Duluth.
Road anti-icing systems are controlled by weather stations equipped with sensors and thermometers. Spray heads embedded in the road surface spray anti-icing solution on the roadway to help prevent ice from forming.
