Superior’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is celebrating International Migratory Bird Day with a hike in the Bluff Creek Nature Reserve.
Participants meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Lake Superior Elementary School, 6200 E. Third St., for a short ride to the preserve. The hike will be led by Jane Anklam, conservation manager with Landmark Conservancy and Robbye Johnson, a local birder.
At 10 a.m., participants return to the school for light snacks and refreshments, and a presentation by Anklam on “Why are Migratory Bird Attracted to out Local Stopover Habitat?”
The celebration wraps up with questions between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
