The Douglas County Deer Advisory Council (CDAC) will meet at 5:30 p.m. March 20 at Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., to review data and form preliminary 2019 antlerless quota, permit and season structure recommendations. Public comments will be taken.

CDACs are part of an effort to provide more public input on deer management issues and give stakeholders a greater responsibility in managing local deer numbers.

The council will review and discuss last year's hunting season results and long-term harvest trends, accept public comments and develop preliminary antlerless quota, permit and season structure recommendations. Local Department of Natural Resources staff will be on hand to present information and answer any questions.

Members of the public can also provide online comments from April 1-10 on the DNR's CDAC website. Meeting minutes are also available on the site.

A final council meeting will be held April 17 to allow the council to review public feedback before making final recommendations, which will be sent to the Natural Resources Board for approval in May.
