Alliance hosts winter stroll Feb. 23 along the St. Louis River
Experience the St. Louis River blanketed by winter on foot, snowshoe or by a fat-tire bike.
The St. Louis River Alliance holds its annual Winter River Walk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 23 starting at Boy Scout Landing on Commonwealth Avenue off Highway 23.
Wander through giant red and white pines, cedar spruce and birch trees that follow the trail along the St. Louis River to the Thompson Dam. Warm by the campfire with hot beverages near the dam.
The alliance provides information on history of the area and plants along the way.
Dress appropriate for the weather and bring your own water bottle or Thermos. Bring a bag lunch or snack.
If temperatures or wind chills are below zero, the event will be canceled for safety reasons.
