Saints get 13 all-conference selections

St. Scholastica's best season yielded the school's most all-conference selections, with 13 Saints landing on the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference's first and second teams announced Thursday.

St. Scholastica's best season yielded the school's most all-conference selections, with 13 Saints landing on the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference's first and second teams announced Thursday.

Earning first-team honors were junior offensive lineman Stephen Voelkner (Duluth Central), sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn.) and junior defensive back Justin Trautmiller (Somerset, Wis.).

Earning second-team honors were senior offensive lineman Kyle Groves (Cambridge, Minn.), junior wide receiver Keegan O'Neill (Superior), junior quarterback Alex Thiry (Cambridge, Minn.), junior kick returner Jonny Bennett (Blackduck, Minn.), sophomore defensive linemen Christopher Doran (Andover, Minn.) and Chas Lemon (Minneapolis), junior linebacker J.P. Leary (South St. Paul, Minn.), sophomore linebacker Sean Graskey (Superior), senior defensive back Scott Greening (Antigo, Wis.) and freshman punter Dalton Hatfield (Chaska, Minn.).

In just its third season, St. Scholastica went 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the UMAC to finish second.

League champion Greenville had 10 first-team selections and five second-team selections while sweeping the player and coach of the year awards.
