Ruth Reynolds, 78, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born July 15, 1928, in Superior and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Superior East High School in 1947.

She was previously employed by Kresge's Five and Dime in Superior and the classified department of the Superior Evening Telegram.

She attended and graduated from Duluth Business University with an associate degree in accounting, after which she was employed by Lakehead Pipeline for more than 30 years, retiring in January of 1988.

She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was a very caring and considerate person and will be missed by many.

She is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Carol and Dr. Ray Halverson of Superior and Janet and Dr. Allen Young of Duluth; two brothers and their wives, William and Carolyn Reynolds of Gordon, and Edward and Linda Reynolds of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th Street and Ogden Avenue. Pastor Charles Plaster will officiate, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice or the Salvation Army in Superior.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior and St. Mary's Hospice.
