You don't have to be a runner, volunteer or spectator in order to play a role in this year's Grandma's Marathon. Through April 16, public nominations are being accepted for the 2010 Rudy Perpich Public Service Award.

Nominees can be any current or former public employee or elected official who has exhibited dedication to Grandma's Marathon by contributing time, energy and service to the annual running of the event. The nomination application is available at GrandmasMarathon.com or by calling (218) 727-0947.

In 2006, Grandma's Marathon created the Rudy Perpich Public Service Award, named after the late Minnesota governor who was a tremendous supporter of the annual event.
