The Superior High School gymnastics team opened its season Saturday at the seven-team Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Classic Invitational.
Individually for the Spartans, Kerri Ritsche placed first all-around. In individual events, she was first on the beam and uneven bars, third in the floor exercise and fifth on the vault.
Also competing were Eau Claire Memorial/North, River Falls, West Bend West, Stevens Point, GET/MM/CFC and Wisconsin Rapids.
The Spartans host Grantsburg at 6 p.m. Friday and then will participate in the Chippewa Falls Invitational at noon on Saturday.
