A Duluth man who arranged a meeting with a deputy posing as a 15-year-old girl to buy her used panties for sexual purposes will spend four years in prison.
Garrett John Huotari, 46, pleaded no contest May 24 in Douglas County Circuit Court to felony charges of trafficking of a child, child enticement-expose genitals and attempting to cause a child age 13-18 to view sexual activity.
Huotari was sentenced Friday, July 26, to four years in state prison and six years of extended supervision. He was ordered to have no contact with female minors, no use of the internet and to register as a sex offender.
Huotari was also ordered to attend sex offender treatment, and pay $3,000 in fines in addition to cuort costs. He is also subject to a polygraph examination, according to court records.
According to the criminal complaint, Huotari offered to purchase used panties from a 15-year-old through an internet ad, unaware the teen persona was Deputy Gail Gregory of the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office.

He admitted to arranging a meeting in Superior with the person he believed to be the teen, wanting to buy her used underwear and sending her indecent photos of himself.
Law enforcement officers reportedly found 20 grams of marijuana in the car Huotari was driving.
