With sheer might, Chad Netherland, right, broke the Guinness world record Saturday for preventing two planes from taking off. The planes were revved to 30 percent power and Netherland held them for 1 minute 6 and 6?10 ths seconds at the Bong Memorial Airport. Scott Murphy, a member of Netherland's extreme record breaking team and southeastern regional director of the World Record Federation, kept time during the event. Murphy earned his own record Saturday when he rolled a 12-inch frying plan into an 8-1/2-inch burrito roll; the previous record was 9-1/2 inches. The events were part of a fundraiser for the Experimental Aircraft Association's young pilots program.
