Randy G. Oberholtzer Sr., age 51, of Barnes passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007.

Randy Gene Oberholtzer was born May 9, 1956, in Kenosha, the son of Harold "Buck" and Flora (Inman) Oberholtzer. He attended school in Kenosha and then went to work at the Kenosha County Courthouse as a custodian.

In 1984, he moved to Barnes, where he owned and operated Buck and Bass Resort on Middle Eau Claire Lake. Randy operated the resort for eight years and during that time started the Buck and Bass Fishing tournament.

After selling the resort he moved to Foxboro, where he worked in road maintenance for the town of Summit. He moved back to Barnes in 2005 and then went to work for Home Medical Products and Service as a driver and service technician. He recently opened Barnes Auto Lube with his son Steven.

Randy was an avid musky fisherman and caught the largest musky in the 2004 Muskies Inc. fishing contest. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed such hobbies as camping, trapping and deer hunting. He was a big Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He loved his grandchildren and liked watching sitcoms like "Sanford and Son."

Randy is survived by his two sons, Randy Jr. of Kenosha and Steven (Bobbie) of Barnes; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Anthony, Gus and Emily; mother, Flora; three brothers, Rick of Ashland, Harold "Bim" and Corey, both of Barnes; and three nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold.

A gathering celebrating Randy's life will begin at noon Friday at the Cabin Store in Barnes.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Randy's family.
