Racing returns to Superior track

The WISSOTA Dirt Track Series returns to the Superior Speedway for its second visit of the season Friday night. The feature will pay $3,000 to win and $300 to start the 40-lap feature.

The WISSOTA Dirt Track Series returns to the Superior Speedway for its second visit of the season Friday night. The feature will pay $3,000 to win and $300 to start the 40-lap feature.

Also on the program will be the modifieds and super stocks. Just added to the program are the Superior pure stocks.

The winner of the first WISSOTA Dart Machinery Challenge Series was Hibbing's Jeff Provinzino, who narrowly held off A.J. Diemel of Navarino, Wis.

Racing action begins with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. followed by the first qualifying heat at 7 p.m. Adult admission (16-and-over) is $20 with youth tickets (11-15) at $10 and kids are free. For more information call 394-7223 or see the speedway Web site at www.superiorracetrack.com .
