Courage Center Duluth is hosting a power soccer tournament Saturday at UW-Superior.
Power soccer is a relatively new adaptive sport in which teams of four players in power chairs attack, defend and maneuver an oversized soccer ball to score points on a goal. This team sport combines the skill of wheelchair use with the speed and power of the chair.
Six teams will be competing, including three Courage Blizzards teams, two Duluth Thunder teams and the Fargo (ND) Strikers.
The Blizzards are coached by Jr. Mamea, Tracy Mayer and Chris Solie and the Thunder are coached by Eric Larson.
