A Poplar man pleaded no contest to charges of threatening a Douglas County judge Thursday.
Richard E. Olaf, 42, of Poplar was charged with one county felony battery or threat to a judge and a misdemeanor charge of harassment against Douglas County Circuit Court Judge George Glonek.
The offenses stem from a May 25, 2007, court hearing during which Olaf made threatening remarks after Glonek made a ruling during a family dispute hearing involving Olaf.
Olaf entered a no contest plea on both charges. He entered a deferred prosecution agreement in connection with the felony, and was given two years probation and 30 days in jail for the misdemeanor. He's been ordered to complete anger management and have no contact with Glonek or his family.
The court also granted a four-year order of protection for the judge and his family.
