Superior police are looking for information about a woman who allegedly robbed the Spur convenience store at 1706 Tower Ave. early this morning.

Police were called to the business around 1:50 a.m., where they met with the clerk. The male employee, who had been filling coolers when the woman charged into the building, told police a she wore dark clothing and a hood over her head and entered the store wearing sunglasses and something covering the lower part of her face. He estimated the woman was about five-foot-four to 5-foot-six and heavy-set.

The suspect was allegedly carrying a gun in one hand and a tire iron in the other. The clerk reported that she asked him how to open the register and told him to step back in the coolers or she would shoot him.

According to a Superior Police Department news release, the suspect was able to open the register and remove the cash. She then returned to the coolers to tell the clerk not to call the police before fleeing the store.

When police arrived, the suspect was gone. It's not known if she fled on foot or in a motor vehicle.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call the police tip line at 395-7468. Tips can remain anonymous and a reward is being offered for information that leads to a successful arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
