Shortly after 2 a.m., a Duluth hospital contacted Superior police about a 24-year-old Superior man who had been dropped off in the emergency room. The man had been stabbed several times.

An officer responded to the hospital and met with the victim. Initially information was sketchy, but over the next couple days police determined the incident happened in the 1200 block of North 12th Street in Superior.

According to the victim, he and a friend had arrived at the residence to visit a friend. When they got there a verbal altercation erupted between the victim and a 21-year-old man. It remains unclear what happened but the verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation. The victim was stabbed in the upper chest area with a knife. He has been released from the hospital.
