Police have released the name of a man arrested in connection with the death of a 33-year-old Red Cliff man last week.
Chad Wayne Nelis, 22, of Red Cliff is being held on a probation violation at the Bayfield County Jail, according to Red Cliff Police Chief Charles Bresette.
Bresette said Nelis is being held as a person of interest in the death pending the results of the autopsy and state crime lab reports
Nelis has not been charged in connection with the death Matthew Anthony Basina.
Last week, the chief said Nelis could face a first-degree reckless homicide charge.

Bresette said alcohol may have been a factor in the death.
"At this point and time we are classifying it as an accidental hit and run," Bresette said.
Basina was found in a ditch on Blueberry Road around 5 a.m. Thursday.
The death rocked the community of about 1,300, and the tribal council held a meeting late last week to dispel rumors about the death.
Results from an autopsy and search of Nelis' car, which was seized and sent to the state crime lab, are expected this week.
