A rural Douglas County man was arrested in connection with two robberies in Superior.

Around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Superior police and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at a rural Douglas County home as part of the investigation into convenience store robberies at the Spur, 1706 Tower Ave., Saturday and Hammond Spur on Monday.

In both instances, police said a man entered the store and demanded money while displaying a weapon. No one was injured in either robbery.

A Douglas County man, Michael A. Garcia, 28, was taken into custody at the residence, according to a new release issued this morning by Superior Police Capt. Chad La Lor.

Garcia was interviewed and was subsequently charged with two counts of armed robbery, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of $100,000 fine and 40 years in prison.
