CHIPPEWA FALLS (AP) -- Chippewa Falls police say a 17-year-old boy whose body was found on the bank of the Chippewa River this week was murdered.
Police identified the boy Friday as Jason A. Grau of Eau Claire. He was a student at McKinley Charter School.
His body was found Wednesday near the Highway 124 bridge on Xcel Energy property.
Interim Police Chief John Liddell says he won't speculate on when Grau died, but says investigators have confirmed he was seen on Sunday in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area.
Liddell says it's not a random act, but no arrests have been made.
