Patrick A. Abrahamzon, 77, of South Range died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

He was born March 17, 1931, in Superior and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the United States Air Force.

He was employed by Murphy Oil for 37 years starting in 1956 and retiring as a foreman in 1993. He also farmed and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He had a "love-hate" relationship with the Green Bay Packers, which resulted in the television being turned on and off at least three times per game.

He married Edna Vendela on Dec. 26, 1952.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 55 years; his children, Dennis (Cindy) Abrahamzon of Lake Nebagamon, Steven (Rene) Abrahamzon of South Range, Duane (Lauretta) Abrahamzon of South Range, and Shawn (Steven) Parker of South Range; grandchildren, Sammy, Brian, Stephanie, Mike, Cole, Alex, and Lyndzee; one great-grandchild, Natalie; and a sister, Patricia Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas and Henry Abrahamzon.

A private family memorial service will be held on Friday in the Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior.
