Anyone with a 35- to 45-foot evergreen they don't want on their property could be in luck. The Green Bay Packers might be interested in harvesting it for you.
The Packers and Festival Foods again usher in the holiday season with the Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field 5-7 p.m. Dec. 8.
Anyone from Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan who wants to donate the tree to the second annual event is asked to submit a proposal in 100 words or less about why his or her tree should be used for Festival of Lights and displayed at Lambeau Field through the holiday season. Proposals should include a photo of the tree, and can be submitted through Nov. 19.
The Packers will arrange for the tree to be harvested and transported to Lambeau Field. The owner of the selected tree receives four tickets to the Packers-Raiders game, Dec. 9. The proposal and photo can be submitted for consideration online at www.packers.com/fan_zone/ contests/festival_of_lights.
