Optimist club chooses Tracy, Reder for November

The Superior Noon Optimist Club picked coaches to join as junior members for the month of November.

The Superior Noon Optimist club named Dan Tracy and Alyssa Reder the club's junior members this month.

Tracy is a volunteer coach for the Superior Youth Football League and the Rookie Basketball Association. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America. He participates in Superior High School varsity football and baseball. He is the co-editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, Spartan Spin. He is also involved with the Cathedral Church youth group and is an associate member of the Society of Saint De Paul. Tracy plans to study journalism and play football at a four year university.

Reder is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. She participates on the SHS soccer, dance and skating teams. She is involved with the Superior/Douglas County Youth Leadership program, the Cathedral Church youth group and the Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club. She is a member of the Duluth Figure Skating Club and is a group and private lesson coach. She plans to attend college and medical school to train for a career as a pediatrician.

Both students have joined the Optimist Club for weekly luncheon meetings. Next fall Tracy and Reder have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1,000 community service award sponsored by the club.
