A man from Onalaska, Wis., is facing felony charges in Douglas County Circuit Court for sexually assaulting a female relative.

Justin James Doolittle, 36, made an initial appearance Thursday for second-degree sexual assault and incest in connection with the incident that occurred in early morning hours Wednesday in Wascott.

According to the criminal complaint:

The victim was getting ready to go to bed when she heard her door open and looked over to see her relative. She told deputies that she heard him say "You know you want me."

The victim said she was confused by his comments and intentions; she reminded him of their familial relationship and asked him to leave. He refused and the physical contact became more aggressive.

The victim told Douglas County Sheriff Deputy Patrick Carey that he threw her on the ground and had sex with her. She finally managed to fight off her attacker and ran to get help.

When deputies arrived on the scene, Doolittle was being escorted away by someone trying to help the victim.

Doolittle remains in custody at the Douglas County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and the people who helped her, and provide a DNA sample.

A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
