In continuation with Canadian National's multi-year maintenance and strengthening project on the Oliver railroad bridge over the St. Louis River between Duluth and Oliver, the west and east spans of the bridge will be replaced on Sept. 14 and Sept 29 respectively.

The bridge strengthening project, part of CN's 2016 capital program, and is a major investment in the continuing safety and efficiency of CN's Wisconsin and Minnesota railroad network.

The bridge span replacements will prompt extended closures of the roadway beneath the rail bridge connecting Wisconsin Highway 105 to Minnesota Highway 39.

The highway portion of the bridge will be closed to traffic for 72 hours starting from 12:01 a.m. today through Sept. 15; a second closure is scheduled for 24 hours on Sept. 29.

These extended closures are in addition to the regularly scheduled daily weekday closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
