The Northwood High School girls basketball team fell to Cameron Tuesday night at home 44-38. The loss ended the put an end to the Evergreens' three-game winning streak and dropped their overall record to 3-2.
The first quarter made all the difference for the Evergreens, as they were outscored 15-7. In the second quarter Northwood made a small rally to move within seven points, 26-19, going into the second half.
In the third quarter, the Evergreens really stepped things up with five different players combining for 10 points, while their defense limited Cameron to just one 3-pointer and two free throws for five points. At the end of the third quarter the Evergreen's found themselves within easy striking distance as they trailed only 31-29.
Cameron came back to life in the fourth quarter, though, as Liz Jacobs led the charge with six of her nine points in the period. Northwood managed to tally another nine points in the final quarter, but Cameron held on for the 44-38 win.
Neither team burned things up at the free-throw line, as Northwood went 7-for-14 and Cameron 6-for-16.

Taylor Fellbaum was the leading scorer in the game with 14 points. Ashley Albano also scored in double figures with 12 points, and five other players scored for Northwood.
Sally Marske led Cameron in scoring with 13 points, and Anna Walther added 10.
The Evergreens will play their next game at Clayton at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
