The Northwood girls basketball team keeps winning, and the Evergreen girls keep climbing higher in the polls.

In this week's Associated Press poll, the Northwood girls were ranked second in the state among Division 4 teams. The Evergreens were excited by the news but remained focused on their game as they defeated Shell Lake 68-24 Tuesday.

The Northwood girls led 17-11 after the first quarter before outscoring Shell Lake by 13 points in the second to take a commanding lead. In the third quarter, the Evergreens held their opponents to just two points while scoring 20 of their own to put the game away.

As usual, Northwood took advantage of its deep bench in its victory over Shell Lake. Thirteen of the Evergreen players on the roster saw significant playing time.

"We had very balanced scoring tonight," said Northwood coach Jason Schultz.
