The Northwestern youth wrestling team recently finished in first place in the Osceola Wrestling Club tournament. The 15-member squad competed against seven other teams and scored 35 out of 45 possible points.
Jake Brill, 2nd grade; Calen Kirkpatrick, 4th grade; Tyler Little, 5th grade; Trevor Nicoski, 2nd grade; Zach Pooler, 2nd grade; Ian Smith, Pre-K; and Braden Trautt, 1st grade, all finished in first place.
Andrew Hanson, 4th grade; Jamison Pflug, 5th grade; Donny Pooler, 4th grade; Luke Sedin, Pre-K; Alex Smith, 2nd grade; Brennan Werner, 1st grade; and Kelby Werner, 5th grade all finished in second place and Zach Anderson, kindergarten, came in fourth.
The team's coaches are Lee Gilbertson, Kevin Kirkpatrick and Chuck Pooler.
