The Northland's NewsCenter is adding Minnesota Wild hockey to its programming line up.
Beginning with the Wild traveling to Vancouver on Friday night, the Northland's NewsCenter will air a total of 10 games -- five on CBS 3 and five on My 9, the My Network TV affiliate serving northeast Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin and the Iron Range.
"Hockey has long been a great tradition here in the Northland and the opportunity to bring professional hockey to our audience is one we are truly excited about," said David Jensch, vice-president and station manager of the Northland's NewsCenter. "We're able to share these games with fans that may not normally be able to see professional hockey on television."
The first televised game is set for 9 p.m. Friday on CBS 3.
The Northland's NewsCenter recently began airing University of Wisconsin-Superior hockey games on My 9, including Saturday's home game against the UW-River Falls Falcons. The pregame show begins at 7 p.m.
