A melee at the NorShor Theatre early Sunday morning started with a physical fight between exotic dancers, grew to involve some male customers and ended with a fleeing vehicle losing control, rolling into a ravine and a passenger being arrested. According to Duluth police, officers were called to the NorShor -- now a strip club -- about 1:51 a.m. Sunday on a report of a fight involving 10 people at the theater. After arriving, police learned that at least two of the exotic dancers had been fighting and one had cut the other with a knife. Then several male customers became involved and fought with security employees.
Two officers tried to stop three men leaving in a car. The car, driven by a 27-year-old, fled. Several officers assisted, but the driver eluded them as he drove at high speeds into the East Hillside.
Officers found the vehicle after it rolled into the Chester Creek ravine. The driver fled, but two male passengers were trapped and had to be freed by police officers. A 24-year-old male passenger from Tennessee was arrested on St. Louis County felony narcotics warrant. Charges are pending against the driver.
