Myrtle Eva Sutherland, 94, of Superior, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.
Myrtle was born in Minot, N.D., on Aug. 17, 1913, the daughter of Ida (Hanson) and Homer Rusk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nels G. Sutherland in 1973; her parents; a son, Donald in 1992; a brother, Roy Rusk; and a sister, Beatrice Degerman.
Myrtle is survived by her four daughters, Betty (George) Schuster, Dorothy Doyle, Jeanette (Edward) Zelma, and Shirley Johnson, all of Superior; grandchildren, James Schuster, Tom and Tammy Zelma, Tracy (Jeff) Christman, Brian (Kathy) Johnson, and Lisa Pedersen; eight great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th Street and Ogden Avenue. The Rev. Lee Boleman, interim pastor of Our Saviors Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne.

Pallbearers will be James J. Schuster, Brian Johnson, Kyle Schuster, Derek Christman, Nick Johnson and Gary Milbrandt.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Harmony House I & II, Dr. George Holliday III, and St. Mary's Hospital in Superior for their loving and compassionate care of Myrtle.
