A morning house fire in Superior caused about $50,000 damage, but no injuries were reported.

The Superior Fire Department responded to 1813 Oakes Ave. at 7:45 a.m. today for a structure fire. The first engine crew on the scene reported a working fire with heavy smoke coming from the structure, according to a release from Battalion Chief Steve Edwards. Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly. No one was home at the time of the fire, Edwards reported, but the family did lose two dogs in the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by Superior fire and police investigators. The fire does not appear to be suspicious, according to Edwards.
