With the Minnesota government closed for business, plans to repair the railroad tracks above the Oliver Bridge are on hold.

The bridge, which was supposed to be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily this week, will remain open for now. The closure is tentatively scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Once a budget has been passed in Minnesota, work can begin on the Minnesota Department of Transportation right of way that links Wisconsin Highway 105 and Minnesota Highway 39. When work begins the bridge closes 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and opens nightly to traffic.

The project is expected to take five months to complete.
