When Elmer Fudd was hunting Bugs Bunny, he would hold his finger to his lips and whisper, "shhh, I'm hunting the wascally wabbit." As I look at all those huge and slick billboards for Tripp I say to myself "those wascally wepublicans."
If you didn't know, the Republican did not put a candidate in the race for Assembly. Now that seems strange. After all, the Republicans spent thousands upon thousands in expensive campaigns to unseat an incumbent Democrat. So, why wouldn't they try for an "open" seat? Oh, those wascally wepublicans! What do they know? Have they figured out that it's easier to elect a conservative running as a Democrat.
If you check, you can see that much of money that used to go to Republicans is funding the Tripp campaign. And, who is Tripp? She only recently joined the Democratic Party. She has never held office. We don't have a track record. As far I know, she has never worked for a Democratic candidate.
When Nick Milroy was campaigning with local Democrats for Al Gore in 2000, where was Tripp? When Nick Milroy was dropping leaflets for John Kerry, Russ Feingold, and Dave Obey in 2004, where was Tripp?

I fear Tripp's recent interest in Democrats and our causes may evaporate as quickly as it formed.

Editor's note: According to the chairmen of Douglas County's Democratic Party and Republican Party, Tripp joined the Democratic Party this year; she has never been a member of the Republican Party.
