Men's Hockey: Yellowjackets tame Lions

The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's hockey team improved to 3-1-4 on the season with a 2-1 victory over the Finlandia Lions Tuesday night at Wessman Arena.

Logan Isley scored in his fourth straight game for the Yellowjackets. His goal came at 10:37 of the second period with assists from Derek Paige and Josh Seifert, a former Superior Spartan.

Kevin Huck's first goal of the season came on a power play at 6:12 of the third period.

Travis Hanson helped Finlandia avoid being shutout with a goal 1:25 later.

Mike Rosett made 25 saves for the Yellowjackets and Ryan Donovan stopped 28 shots for the Lions (3-3).

The 'Jackets are scheduled to play at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

'JACKET JOTTINGS: UWS was 1-for-4 on power plays and had seven penalties for 12 minutes. Finlandia was 0-for-6 with the extra skater and had five penalties for eight minutes. ...
