State Sen. Bob Jauch, D-Poplar, received the Wisconsin Medical Society's Health Leadership Award at the group's annual meeting last month.
The award is presented to a person in government who has made significant contributions to the development of health care policies that will benefit Wisconsin and advance medicine.
"Sen. Jauch has been instrumental in helping his capitol colleagues understand the real world effects that certain health policy ideas would have on physicians and their ability to provide care," said outgoing society President Bradley Manning, M.D.
