Marguerite Mary LePage, 74, longtime Superior area resident, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Hospice Unit, Duluth.

She was born in Newfoundland, Canada on July 8, 1932, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Collins) Foley.

She attended schools in Canada and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a bachelor of science degree in social work.

Marguerite was employed by Fieldview Manor as a social worker, retiring in 1998.

She enjoyed arts, music and nature. She was a prolific poet and loved literature. Marguerite loved to travel worldwide. She was a strong advocate for the elderly.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise LePage, Harlingen, Texas and Anita LePage, Santa Barbara, Calif.; one son, Alan (Laura) LePage, Blaine, Minn.; two sisters, Mercedes Buchanan, Gulfport, Miss., and Clara (Billy) Benoite, Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada; four grandchildren, Neil Anderson, Shara Halverson, Elizabeth LePage and Tanner LePage; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Foley; and two brothers, James and Thomas Foley.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. Fifth St., Superior and continues until the 11 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. Dean Buttrick officiating.

Burial will be in Blueberry Cemetery.
