A Milwaukee man is sought in connection with alleged threats to shoot an officer at the Gordon Correctional Center last month.

A warrant was filed June 2 in Douglas County Court for Terrell Laron Daniels, 35, who faces two counts felony terroristic threats.

According to the criminal complaint:

A sergeant at the correctional center received a telephone call May 29. The caller accused the sergeant of locking him up at a county jail a month ago. The caller said he had a rifle and would be down at the end of the driveway in the bushes waiting for the sergeant.

The caller's description of the sergeant's body shape indicated the caller knew him personally and could be an inmate or former inmate.

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies and the office's Bearcat tactical vehicle were deployed. Sweeps of the prison grounds using thermal imaging devices revealed nothing. It was established that the call did not come from the Douglas County Jail or current inmates at the correctional facility.

With the aid of local phone company CenturyLink, the number was identified as belonging to Daniels.

The phone call placed the facility in lockdown and interrupted daily operations. Two family members visiting inmates had to be escorted out of the facility by a sheriff's deputy because of the call.

Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 42 months of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.
