Lyric Opera of the North offers Shakespeare favorite

Tickets are available for Lyric Opera of the North's four offerings of Benjamin Britten's musical of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Participating are local favorites Bill Bastian as the fairy king, Oberon, and Rachel Inselman as his queen, Tytania. Also performing are Cal Metts, Marcus McConico, Art Bumgardner, Lyz Jaakola, Bill Koehler, Chris Nollet, Dennis Anderson, Glenn McGill, David Greenberg and Amy Hegensen. Members of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and chorus are also participating in the musical. Making their debuts with the Lyric Opera of the North are Megan Habiger and Jeromy Cox as Hermia and Snout, respectively.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. June 14-16 and 3 p.m. June 17 at the Masonic Temple Theatre, 4 W. Second St., Duluth. Tickets may be purchased at Lizzards Art Gallery. For reservations call 290-9110.

Performances run three hours with two intermissions. Children are especially welcome at the Sunday performance.
