A line of strong thunderstorms is nearing the Twin Ports as of 11:40 a.m., the National Weather Service reported.

The storms are capable of producing wind gusts to 35 mph, dime-size hail, lightning and torrential rainfall.

After this line of storms passes, there will be a chance for more storms - some possibly severe - across the Northland this afternoon and evening, the Weather Service reported.
