To The Telegram:

In regards to Lisa Evan's letter to the Oct. 23 Telegram, the archery club finally held an informal meeting about two months later than they should have. Since eight to 10 people were at the meeting including the club members, I don't believe it was a good turnout -- especially after calling all 19 people on the original petition (who, by the way, are surrounding property owners) and "allegedly" distributing flyers in the village and the town.

Only three people who signed the petition did in fact go. I would be surprised if they changed their minds on not wanting the range on Baldwin Avenue in Solon Springs. The majority of us have talked it over and still feel that nothing that the "club" could say at the meeting would change the basic problems due to the location.

According to the Solon Springs Board minutes on Sept. 10, which is public record, three of the club members, and I quote, "have been negotiating with Paul and Lisa Evans to purchase property off of Baldwin Ave." So the one letter saying that the archery club deserves thanks was written by the person who sold them the land for the use of an archery club in the first place.
