With someone like Mayor Dave Ross in charge, I am ashamed to call myself a citizen of Superior.
His refusal to endorse or welcome the upcoming Duluth-Superior Pride Festival reeks of ignorance. He may say we are all equal human beings and that he doesn't cater to gay-bashers, but his actions speak to the contrary.
Additionally, shame on Councilor Chuck Hendry for kowtowing to born-again Christians and "different church groups." Since when do we let hate mongerers call the shots for our elected officials?
Herb Bergson was ahead of his time -- if only Superior could again elect someone with an open mind come next election.

By any means necessary, we have to get our city officials into this century and drop the ignorant attitudes toward people who are simply different than them.
