Regarding your story in Thursday's paper on the Douglas County Highway Department:
I think it is absolutely outrageous for the county to deny drinking water to some highway department employees at the county facilities that have no plumbing, yet Douglas County can see fit to pay for an employee Christmas party at the Moose Club this Friday. Something is wrong here!
Whether it's the department supervisors, the county administration, or the county board, or a combination of all three, they need to get their act together and do something responsible. If the County can pay for a Christmas party, they certainly should provide drinking water for employees where none is available. Drinking water is a necessity.
