A recent letter in We The People (January 7, 2009) caught my eye, and I couldn't agree more. It was regarding a challenge to keep city sidewalks clear of snow. This should also include shoveling the ends of sidewalks to have access to the street to avoid having to climb over high snowbanks.
Walking in Superior is a dangerous endeavor for all, including children, seniors and able-bodied people.
Kudos to the many citizens who do keep their sidewalks clear, however, there does remain a lot of unshoveled ones.
I live in a great neighborhood where we help each other. Several of my neighbors will snowblow for others, while those without machines, myself included, will shovel. That's the way it should be. I am very fortunate and proud to live where I do.

I would like to put a name to the challenge to keep our city sidewalks clear of snow.
