The Superior High School Bonanza fundraising campaign set for June 23 at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds includes the Superior Hall of Fame induction and more.
Attending the Hall of Fame banquet is surely a great opportunity to honor those being inducted, but the event supports all of the activities that are a part of Superior Senior High. Whether sports, forensics, FBLA, music, DECA, or any other activity that needs additional funds, the Bonanza proceeds can and will be used.
Parents, friends, businesses, grandparents, those interested in specific activities, and all of you who are proud to have our Superior students participate in extracurricular activities are invited to join participants.
The event begins with a social hour providing the opportunity to visit with coaches, friends and the inductees. It will be followed by dinner (provided by Upper Lakes Foods), the induction ceremony for Coach Ron Orlandi, Don Soderberg, Jim Rotsaert and induction of the 1974 Senior High School State Basketball Champions into the Superior Sports Hall of Fame. It concludes with live music by the band "Fired Up."

The Hall of Fame ceremony has been rejuvenated and plaques previously displayed at Wessman Arena will find a new home at Superior Senior High School. The last group of athletes was inducted in 1998. With the support already forthcoming and financial success on June 23, organizers hope to make the Bonanza an annual Superior event.
Tickets give supporters a chance to win prizes. This is an opportunity people can't afford to miss. Only 450 tickets will be sold at a cost of $100 each with $80 of the total tax deductible. Deadline for purchasing tickets is June 7.
They are available from coaches, Hall of Fame committee members, at the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, the Senior High School office and the Superior School District office. As a member of the Hall of Fame committee, I urge you to make plans to attend now.
